Milling is a process used for cutting away at material in a certain workplace, and can become an awful complication if not done correctly. Known as one of the most commonly used processes in the industry today, milling is used to create parts according to precise sizes and shapes. This process cannot be done efficiently without the correct precision cutting tools, which emphasizes the importance of the manufacturers of these tools to the industry as a whole.

There are many different tools and materials that play a key roll in the milling and cutting process. These tools are used for different operations and machines, ranging on scales from tiny individual parts to giant heavy operations. There are some tools that are more widely known such as the simplistic ones like aluminum cutters, in which their name defines their purpose. But then there are some complex tools that you may of never heard of, such as ball end mills or some useful tool holders like the HSK and CAT 40.

A ball end mill is a tool that has teeth at one end, as well as teeth on its sides. Said to be the most commonly used tool in vertical milling, they are typically made form high speed steel or carbide.

CAT tooling is offered in a range of different sizes, anywhere from CAT 30 tool holder, Cat 40 tool holders, CAT 50 tool holders, etc. Their number refers to the taper size of the tool, which is of great importance when precision cutting. HSK tool holders serve a similar purpose. They are a type of tool holder with a shorter, hollower taper that touches the spindle on two surfaces

Manufacturing things such as HSK tool holders and CAT holders must be done with expertise as well as caution. These parts are generally produced for heavy machinery and often times complex uses, so they must be made perfectly.
